Overland Trail Middle
Beginning on September 11 and ending on September 25 I observed Mrs. Dunn’s Spanish class at Overland Trail Middle School. Mrs. Dunn teaches Spanish and sees all different grade levels throughout the day. During the time I was there I experienced sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes.
I am glad I had this experience to see other grades, besides elementary school. It really opened my eyes to how other grades function on a daily basis. It's amazing how different eighth grade is compared to sixth grade in terms of attitude, knowledge, and level of noise.

For my last observation I went to Mrs. Dunklee's third grade class. She is a very organized teacher and through this observation I gained new insight on how I want my classroom to be structured. Compared to the first graders the third graders were more mature and seemed a lot older. The two years between both grades makes a huge difference in terms of how they act.
I enjoyed this third grade class and loved working with the students individually for reading an math. It was a truly rewarding experience to see the students succceed and do well on their homework and tests.

I observed Ms. James first grade class for my second observation. I was in the classroom for about three weeks and during this time I created a lesson plan and presented it in front of the students. From this experience I learned so much about the students I worked with and the overall curriculum.
I realized after observing in this classroom that I truly want to be a elementary teacher and spend every day with young students. My passion for teaching was brought to light and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher or classroom to observe.
